"On Saturday, May 4, Marin County residents will be able to bring their household hazardous waste (HHW) to the Pt. Reyes Toxic Away Day for safe and free disposal. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. next to the Pt. Reyes Fire Station at 4th and B Streets in Pt. Reyes Station.

Appointments are required for residents who wish to participate in the event (but people will not be turned away if they do not have one). Examples of HHW that will be collected include old computer monitors, household batteries, paints, stains, thinners, fertilizers, pesticides, adhesives, gas, motor oil, antifreeze, pool chemicals, and household cleaners. No waste from businesses will be accepted.

Residents can bring a total of 15 gallons of liquid waste or 125 pounds of dry waste.
