"A hiker was killed by falling debris caused by a toppled tree Tuesday on a trail in Muir Woods, the Marin County Fire Department said. The victim, a 29-year-old man, was found dead at the scene by emergency crews. A second person suffered minor injuries, and was taken to MarinHealth Medical Center. The identity of the hikers was not released. The incident occurred at 4:30 p.m. when a tree fell into other trees in the Hillside Trail area, causing debris to strike the hikers.
