Nature can be rough. The alpha male elephant seals are at Drakes Beach now and there is some serious fighting going on. There was a huge male on the beach on Sunday when another male came out of the water and decided it was his beach. A vicious brawl ensued. The new male sustained a major injury to its nose and there was blood everywhere. Eventually the new male drove the other male off and then lay on the beach in its injured state. It was intense for all the holiday visitors who witnessed it. If you do go to the beach, stay a very safe distance away from these animals and be prepared for some serious nature happening.
