I'm confused, anyone else hear about this? "A Monterey County sheriff's deputy arrested three suspects Thursday who allegedly stole property from a business. On Thursday night, sheriff's officials received a call from a resident who saw three men break into a business in Point Reyes Station in incorporated Marin County. The resident said he heard a window break and loud noises coming from inside the store, sheriff's officials said. When a deputy arrived on the scene she allegedly saw three young men walking away from the business. One of the suspects was wearing a pair of rubber gloves, sheriff's officials said." It was on the side of the road and looks a little beat up - it might have been run over by a car or two - but it looks like a gold wedding band. I’d love to return it to its owner. The lane closure will be in effect for the duration of the project, Monday through Saturday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Traffic flow will be maintained using alternating one-way access through the work zone, controlled by flaggers, during work hours. However, both lanes will remain open outside of the designated working hours. Travelers should expect delays during peak commuting hours and plan accordingly. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work towards improving the safety and functionality of the roadway.

The Point Reyes Light sheds more light on the recent shark attack in the park. It was exploratory. "Just before the attack, there was a lull in the waves. In the calm, she played on her surfboard, kneeling on its face to practice balancing—and then she slipped. The majority of her body was back on her board, out of the water, when she screamed and jerked her feet upwards, kicking away from biting teeth. The shark surfaced then, rising above the water to reveal an eye, a belly, a fin. Then it disappeared. Natalie Jones, an Oakland resident and former reporter for the Light, suffered bites to both of her feet from a juvenile or subadult—likely 10 to 12 feet long—white shark on Dec. 30 in the waters near Drakes Estero." There’s a lively, hopeful display underway these days along Lagunitas Creek in west Marin County, where the return of winter rains has drawn endangered coho salmon up into the stream to spawn. After decades of watching Central California Coast coho stock diminish, it’s heartening to know 3-year-old fish have found their way back home to reproduce and keep the species going at least a while longer. Thank you to emergency crews for this rescue yesterday. "At approximately 3:40 pm CHP H-30 responded to assist the Marin County Fire Department and the Sonoma County Sheriff Helicopter Henry 1 with an injured hiker at Alamere Falls in rural Marin County. H-30 was airborne and already patrolling Marin County and arrived overhead in 6 minutes. After a brief search of the area H-30 located the injured party at the top of the falls. H-30 landed and a CHP Officer/Paramedic made contact with hiker. After assessing the hiker it was determined that his 6 year old daughter was also injured. The family had been hiking when the daughter slipped and slid down the falls for approximately 15 feet. The father attempted to catch the daughter and also slid down the falls. With the assistance of citizens at the scene the father and daughter climbed back to the top of the falls. Due to the remote location and no cell service the wife/mother of the hiked approximately 1 hour to obtain a cell signal!
Due to multiple patients at the scene Sonoma County Henry 1 landed and transport the 6 year old daughter while CHP H-30 transported the father. All parties and were flown to Five Brooks in Marin County and transferred to a Marin County Fire Ambulance. All are expected to make a full recovery. Both rescue helicopters saved Marin County Fire personnel approximately 1 1/2 hours of hiking in to the falls and at least and additional 1 1/2 hour hike back to the trail head and Five Brooks."
