"Please join us for the 70th Western Weekend celebrating the rural roots of West Marin on June 2nd and 3rd and be a part of the fun! Pick up your entry forms for Sunday's Parade at the Building Supply now! And this year, you can buy some raffle tickets there as well, which help support our Jr. Grand Marshall Program. Also selling raffle tickets is Mollie Donaldson, currently our only Jr. Grand Marshall applicant, though applications will be accepted through May 21 (see TBYCLounge.org for application information).
On Saturday June 2, the Point Reyes-Olema 4-H Club will kick-off the weekend at 1pm with the West Marin Fair. This year they will have many projects and display, some small animals, along with food, fun & games. Then stick around for GRO Artists in the Schools opening celebration, the Salsa Tasting contest, West Marin Choir and Children's Choir, Taco dinner, Barn Dance, announcement of Grand Marshall, Jr. Grand Marshall and raffle winners and more!
The Western Weekend parade begins at noon Sunday June 3rd. The parade is followed by the usual events at Toby's Feed Barn including live music, the Farm Bureau's famous Chicken Barbecue, 4-H Desserts, Halleck Creek-Cow Flop, The Rotary of West Marin-Chili Cook-Off and Sacred Heart's hosting a Mexican food both this year as well!
We are still working out the details for the Non-Profit EXPO to follow the parade--contact Madeline Nieto Hope at 415-446-8587 for questions and suggestions!
We are pleased to have community collaboration for this annual activity and acknowledge the West Marin Lions Club for hosting this annual celebration with great support form West Marin Rotary, the Farm Bureau, Toby's Feed Barn and many, many others.
