The WMF Facebook Feed
The West Marin Feed gained traction as a Facebook page and many of the local followers still find it there. Times have changed and Twitter has taken over as a better news medium, but WMF still posts on Facebook at least two or three times a week.

The best part about Facebook (if there is one) is that there is a lot of really good information that people are able to add to stories in the comments. Unfortunately, you have to go to the Facebook post itself to see these comments, they cannot be imported onto this feed.

From Sheriff Doug Pittman: "My fellow West Marin folks, PLEASE keep an eye out for missing 9 year old Ida Rothschild! Ida went missing today around 12:15 last scene in her campsite in Samuel P Taylor State Park. We have over 140 trained searchers combing the park and surrounding hills as I write. We (the Sheriff's Office) will not stop leading this huge search effort until we find her whereabouts. Yes, that means we will be here throughout the night, all night until we find Ida. Thank you to those who have generously dropped off water and snacks for our volunteer searchers...all is greatly appreciated. Prayers for The Rothschild family and the safe return of Ida. County fire Battalion Chief Mike Giannini said fire crews had the blaze "10 percent" contained at 10:15 a.m. after having difficulty reaching the site a mile or so inside the park on the north side of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.
"It's a long narrow fire," he said, adding fog prevented state aircraft from lending a hand. "We've got a lot of resources coming in," he added. "This will be a ground battle. It will be a long day."

It definitely 'shipping day' out at one of the ranches today. I was behind the whole convoy of cows going to meet their maker. One of the ranchers yelled out 'go eat a hamburger!' as I drove by.

from dave brast: Beware! Automobile break-in and theft
I just received the following email from Judy Spelman and Rich Schiller:
One of our cars was broken into while parked on Limantour Road, near Bear Valley Road and virtually everything in it removed through the window they shattered. Police expect more such break ins in coming days which is why we're sending this email. Our mistake, apparently, was having one side of the car close to roadside bushes, which gave the thief cover. Take good care!

New signs! With pictures! I think it's interesting that the sign technique is considered an effective means of swaying opinion. Do they work? Who are they aimed at? Tourists? Locals? Are the DBOC signs made by the same people? #signs #elk #pointreyes #questions

Did you know you can watch Marin's election results live until 10:30 pm tonight at CMCM.tv (channel 27)? In a stunning upset, Susan Adams losing soundly to Damon Conneley. Old Pt. Reyes Resident and Supervisor Judy Arnold is in a very tight squeeze at the moment, the Library Measure passing soundly as is the Farmer's Market one. All the state props are passing, housing for Veterans, etc. Marc Levine is going to face-off against the republican candidate Greg (oops forgot last name) and Diana Conti would have to pull out a "hail-mary" in the absentee ballot counts to win for Assemblymember. Huffman prevails.
